Roofers
Marketing for roofers
A finished roof is the best before and after in the trades, and right now it is sitting in your camera roll. Send the photos from the scaffold and Mitch writes the post.
Nobody hands over several thousand pounds to a profile with three reviews from years ago. A roof is a trust purchase. The customer cannot see the work once it is done, they cannot judge the slating, and they have probably had two or three quotes. Whatever tips the decision is what they find when they look you up.
Roofers have the best raw material of any trade for this. Before and after shots tell the story in one glance. They just rarely leave the phone.
What gets in the way
Big job, then straight onto the next
A new roof is a proud homeowner and a big invoice. You are on the next one by Monday, and the review and post that would sell the next job never happen.
Homeowners check you out properly
They want recent roofs from someone who looks busy. Three old reviews and a quiet page raises a doubt, even if your quote was lowest.
Storm week
After a big blow the searches spike for a few days. If your page has been quiet since last winter, you start that week behind.
Good photos stuck on your phone
You took great shots from the scaffold. They are still on your phone, somewhere between holiday snaps and a supplier quote.
A job, start to finish
A made-up firm: Ridgeline Roofing in Bristol. Callum strips and re-slates a rear roof on a Victorian terrace in Bishopston, replacing lead flashings and the ridge. He takes a before photo from the scaffold on day one and an after on day three, and dictates: "Strip and re-slate rear pitch, new battens and membrane, new lead flashings, ridge re-bedded, done in three days."
Mitch writes a Facebook post and an Instagram post: the slipped slates before, the clean pitch after, and the area. Callum approves them the next morning. On Local, a Google post goes up too. A day or two after the scaffold comes down, the homeowner gets a review text.
How Mitch handles it
Before and after as a post
Send both photos and a line. Mitch writes the post around the change, for Facebook and Instagram, and waits for your approval.
Repairs count too
A gutter, a fascia or a few slipped tiles after the wind are all worth a post, so the page looks busy between the big re-roofs.
Plan: On the Local plan
A finished roof can go on your Google profile too. A review text follows 24 to 72 hours later, once you have the homeowner's mobile number and a consent tick, and every review gets a drafted reply. £149 a month.
Pages for what homeowners type
"Roof repair near me" and "flat roof replacement cost" are searches your own site can answer. On Complete, a plugin fixes on-page issues and a new blog page goes up every week, with local rank tracking.
Plan: On the Complete plan
£349 a month for the website side: on-page SEO fixes, the WordPress plugin, a weekly blog page and local rank tracking. Needs a WordPress site.
Lead sites and your own name
Some roofers pay for leads through Checkatrade, MyBuilder or Bark. The homeowner who gets your quote usually looks you up too. See Google Business Profile for what that search shows, and our local SEO guide for how it ties to the website.
