Mitch vs Trustpilot

Trustpilot is a review site you pay to collect and display reviews on. Mitch gets reviews onto your Google profile and writes your posts. Here is how they compare for a tradesman.

Trustpilot is a well-known name in online reviews. This page covers what it costs, how its contract works and where its reviews appear, so you can decide where you want yours to sit.

What Trustpilot is

Trustpilot is a review site with a paid business side. Its UK pricing page lists five levels. Free is £0 and includes 50 review invitations a month. Starter is from £119 a month billed annually, with 100 invitations. Plus is from £289 a month billed upfront annually, with 300 invitations and a 14-day free trial. Premium and Enterprise are quoted by sales; Trustpilot doesn't publish those prices. Its page says all contracts are a 12-month commitment, with the initial term prepaid.

Mitch does something different. After a job you take a photo in the van and add a line. On the Local plan and above Mitch texts your customer a Google review link 24 to 72 hours later and drafts replies. The reviews land on your Google profile, where customers searching for a tradesman nearby see them. Mitch also writes your Facebook and Instagram posts.

Annual commitment against month to month

Trustpilot's pricing page says all contracts are a 12-month commitment with the initial term prepaid, so a Starter plan at £119 a month is a year's commitment. Mitch plans are monthly after the free trial. See the pricing page.

If you only want a profile and a handful of invitations a month, Trustpilot's free plan costs nothing.

Where reviews actually help you

Reviews on your Google Business Profile appear with your listing on Google. Trustpilot reviews appear on Trustpilot. Work out which of the two your own customers look at before you put effort into either. The free Google review link generator gets your Google link in front of customers.

Who each one suits

Trustpilot suits a business with a national footprint, or one that wants a third-party review page to point customers to.

Mitch suits a tradesman whose customers find them on Google and Facebook, who wants the review ask to happen automatically after a job, and who is not looking to pay for a year upfront.

When Trustpilot is the better pick

  • Your customers or your commercial clients ask for a Trustpilot rating.
  • You sell online or across the country, not just in your area.
  • You want a Trustpilot rating to show on your own website.
  • You are happy with the free plan and 50 invitations a month.
  • You want an independent review site that is not tied to Google.

When Mitch is the better fit

You want Google reviews asked for after every job, review replies drafted for you, and posts written from your work. Review texts need the customer's mobile number and a consent tick before they are sent. Mitch does not promise rankings.
