How a builder uses Mitch for local search

DCD Developments is a UK builder, not an Australian one, but the way Mitch checks a website and a Google profile is the same for tradies here. This is what the check found.

Tip: A snapshot, not a promise

Figures are a snapshot from the live account on 9 October 2026. We are not claiming more leads, calls or rankings.

A UK builder, same check

DCD Developments Ltd builds in the Wye Valley, the Forest of Dean and Monmouthshire, which is in the United Kingdom. We do not have an Australian case study yet, so we are showing a real account from overseas and saying so. The check Mitch runs on a website and a Google profile works the same way wherever the tradie is.

Services against suburbs

DCD has 8 services set up in Mitch (general contractor, home builder, tile contractor, kitchen remodeller, paving contractor, bathroom remodeller, flooring contractor and construction company) and 12 service areas, such as Lydney, Chepstow, Monmouth, Abergavenny and Ross-on-Wye.

Mitch lays those out as a grid: 8 services by 12 areas is 96 pairs. It then compares the grid with the pages on the firm's website. As of October 2026, 33 pairs are covered by a page and 63 are missing.

Most tradies have a handful of pages: home, about, contact and one page that lists everything. Customers search for "builder in Abergavenny" or "builder in Monmouth", and there is no page that answers that. Writing out the grid shows where the gaps are.

Each missing pair gets a ranking plan with steps. The ones with the most monthly searches in the account are builder in Gloucestershire (140), builder in Abergavenny (90), builder in Ross-on-Wye (70), construction company in Gloucestershire (70) and builder in Monmouth (50). The website SEO page explains how this works. The account's website score is 73, described as fair with several issues to address, and the fixes, like rewritten title tags, wait for the owner to approve them.

The Google profile check

The second check is the Google Business Profile. DCD scores 80 out of 100 and passes 7 of 9 checks. The profile has 49 photos, 8 categories, opening hours, a website link, a 659-character description and all 12 service areas.

Two things were flagged:

  • The address is incomplete. It needs a street and postcode.
  • The phone number on the listing does not match the business phone in Mitch.

These are small and easy to fix, and easy to miss for years. A mismatched phone number is the kind of thing that confuses both customers and Google. See the Google Business Profile page.

Posts and replies fill the gaps

Alongside the audit, Mitch writes the content. It has drafted a reply to every Google review (the firm has 5.0 stars from 21, all five star, from years of repeat work), and each reply names the job. It has written Instagram and Facebook posts, for example for a bathroom renovation in Monmouth, with the town named in each. It has also published two blog posts on the firm's website, aimed at "builder ross-on-wye" and "new home builder near me".

The owner approves everything. Of 133 social posts, 43 were skipped by the owner and 65 are still drafts. Nothing posts without a yes.

Not every fix is done. Many of the 63 missing pages are still to be written, and the pending website changes are waiting on the owner. The point of the grid is that the list exists at all, with the biggest gaps at the top, rather than living in someone's head.

What has not happened yet

As of October 2026, DCD is not in the map pack for the searches above. It is early. The reviews were earned by the firm's own work over years, and we are not saying Mitch has changed the rankings.

What to take from it

  1. List your services against the suburbs you cover, and count the pages you actually have.
  2. Check your Google profile for a missing address or a wrong phone number.
  3. Fix the biggest gaps first, using search volume to decide.
