Mitch vs Birdeye
Birdeye is a large reputation and marketing platform that quotes prices on request. Mitch is a small weekly routine that starts from a finished job. Here is how they differ for a tradie.
Search for review software and Birdeye is likely to be near the top. It is a big platform, and what matters for you is whether you need something that big and whether you can find out what it costs.
Pricing: ask for a quote
Birdeye does not publish prices, and we found no Australian price list. Its pricing page headline is "Pricing built around outcomes, not seat counts". Before it shows anything, it asks for your business email, company name, phone number and how many locations you run. The location bands start at 1 to 3 and go up past 1000. It also says "One platform, one contract", but it gives no term length.
So the first step is a sales conversation. Ask for the price in Australian dollars, whether GST is included, the contract length and what setup is included.
What it is
Birdeye's homepage describes AI "coworkers" built for multi-location brands. The marketing products it lists cover AI search, reviews, listings, social, marketing automation, a chatbot and pages. Other products cover front desk, appointments, surveys and reporting. Home services is one of the industries named.
Mitch covers a smaller job. You finish a day on the tools, send in a photo and a line, and Mitch drafts Facebook and Instagram posts about a minute later. On Local and Complete it adds a Google post, a review request text sent 24 to 72 hours after the job, and drafted replies to reviews. You approve before anything is published.

Who each suits
Birdeye suits a business with several sites, someone in the office to run the platform, and a wish to have reviews, listings and messaging under one login.
Mitch suits a tradie who does the marketing around the day's jobs and would rather not learn a new dashboard. It starts from the job you just finished.
Texting customers in Australia
Whichever tool you use, review requests by text fall under the Spam Act. You need the customer's consent (a tick on a form or a yes on the phone is best), clear identification of your business and an unsubscribe that is honoured within 5 working days. Mitch only sends when you have the mobile number and consent tick. General information, not legal advice. See ACMA's guidance.
When Birdeye is the better pick
- You run several locations and want one view of them.
- You want an AI receptionist, booking or surveys. Mitch has none of these.
- You have staff to set up and run it.
- The quote suits the size of your business.
When Mitch is the better fit
You are the owner, you finish most days with a job to show for it, and you want posts and review requests to happen without a login. Mitch does not run ads or promise rankings.
