Local Rank Checker
See where you show up in the Google map pack across your service area. Not live yet.
What it will do
Tip: Coming soon
The local rank checker is not live yet. We are not giving a date, and this page will change when it is.
Enter your business and a search term, like "emergency plumber", and the checker will show where you appear in the Google map pack in different parts of your service area.
- Your map pack position for a search term
- How that position changes across your service area
A quick self-check you can do today
- Pick the search a customer would use, for example "water heater repair Columbus" or "emergency plumber near me".
- Search it on your phone with location on, in a private tab, while you are in your own area.
- Note where you appear in the map pack, or whether you do at all.
- Do the same from the other side of your patch. Results shift street by street, so a spot that works near home can look different across town.
- Write down the date and the results. Do it again in a month.
A common mistake is searching from your own office. Google knows where you are, so you tend to see yourself higher than a customer elsewhere would.
